Do Let's Talk learners have to complete accreditation?

Parents/Carers

Accreditation is optional for parents and carers if they are completing the course for the purpose of supporting their own children.

Practitioners

If practitioners, e.g. Teaching Assistants, Early Years Practitioners are undertaking the training then yes, they must complete accreditation at Level 1.

Please note that practitioners who work in education settings should be encouraged to attend an Elklan core course (such as Speech and Language Support for 5-11s) - this is because they require information in more detail than that given in a Let’s Talk course.

The only exception is an Early Years Practitioner who has very little academic confidence. In this case, Let’s Talk with Under 5s is a good starting point but the practitioner should be encouraged to attend Speech and Language Support for 3-5s or Speech and Language Support for 0-3s after completing Let’s Talk with Under 5s.

Please see What courses do you offer for practitioners? for more information about Elklan's core practitioner courses.
